The BWA was set up in 2010 as an independent division of the UKWA to attend to the specific needs of amateur and professional wave sailors. The key aims of the association being:

  • To manage and deliver the UK wave tour with specific responsibilities to operation, safety and managing the environmental impact.
  • To seek funding which will be used to directly benefit wave tour members.
  • To promote access and opportunity for wave sailors wishing to get started in competition ensuring the wave tour continues to grow.
  • To represent the needs of Wavesailing members.
  • The BWA works closely with governing bodies, competitors, event hosts and sponsors to ensure each event is delivered safely and professionally.
  • The BWA UK Wave Tour is only nationally recognised wave competition and remains the ultimate test for all wave sailors in the UK.
