About the event

  • Round 5 of the BWA National Tour.

    Based from Troon, Ayrshire. Troon is historically one of the windiest locations on the West Coast of mainland Scotland and has been the training ground for most of Scotlands talent over the past twenty years. The ‘Pozo’ of Scotland but without the rocks, the beach venue will host the first event here in a number of years in October 2026.

    Entry opens:: Saturday 25th July 2026. Entry closes: Saturday 19th September 2026. (Refunds for entries will not be offered after 19/09/26).

    Event Entries Information:

    Troon Wave Jam (TWJ) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to promoting grass-roots windsurfing by providing competitors with the best possible platform: excellent conditions, high-quality judging, robust safety cover and professional media.

    As with all windsurf competitions, the ability to run the event is dependent on suitable weather. Our aim is to hold the competition only when conditions meet the high standards for wind that Troon often delivers throughout the Autumn. October has been selected based on its strong long-term wind statistics, and the two-day fixed dates format is designed to make it as easy as possible for all to attend.

    To deliver a safe, well-run and professionally supported event, we must secure judges, safety teams and media crews in advance for the full potential event period. This carries unavoidable costs. For that reason, we will retain TBC% of the entry fee regardless of whether the competition ultimately runs. This ensures that the event remains financially sustainable and can continue in future years.

    Entries will close before any reliable forecast is available, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in supporting high-quality competitive windsurfing in the UK.

    This is not racing! it is manoeuvre oriented sailing and & basic wave sailing training…

    8-17 age range.


    The minimum entry level requirement for this training event is competent beach starting ability level with waterstarting ability being desirable.

  • The Troon Wave Jam 2026 is a Fixed Dates event which for 2026 counts towards Scottish national titles.

  • A fixed dates event is an event that is either long enough in duration as to virtually ensure that some kind of weather conditions are received at a competition venue, or where the possibility or rolling over the event to future dates, in the event of no conditions, is not easy or possible.

    This style of event can be a little easier to plan your trip around since it is going ahead one way or the other.
